The Maxxis High Road SL is an ultra-lightweight, high-performance road cycling tire designed for racers and serious enthusiasts who prioritize speed and reduced rolling resistance above all else. It's the premium offering in Maxxis’ High Road series, optimized for climbing and race-day performance.
The Maxxis High Road SL is all about performance — it's a tire built for speed, low rolling resistance, and climbing prowess. It’s best saved for race days when every gram and watt count.
Key Features
170 TPI Casing: High threads per inch for a supple, fast-rolling ride and reduced weight.
HYPR-S Compound: Maxxis’ fastest rubber compound with extremely low rolling resistance and improved grip in both wet and dry conditions.
Lightweight Design: One of the lightest road tires available (~170g for 700x25c), perfect for climbing and acceleration.
No Puncture Belt: Unlike the standard High Road, the SL omits puncture protection layers to save weight — race-day focus only.

Ideal For
- Competitive Racers: Ideal for criteriums, hill climbs, and time trials.
- Climbers: Low weight makes it especially suited for steep ascents.
- Dry Conditions: Best used in dry to mildly wet weather due to the trade-off in puncture protection.
- Race Day Use: Not recommended for daily training or rough roads due to minimal flat protection.
