Newcastle, NSW AUGUST 14TH, 2013 – Lusty Industries and Distributors attended the debut round of the Australian Motocross Championships at Swan Hill in regional Victoria, a never-before-raced circuit provided a stand out facility for the riders.

Todd Waters (Motorex KTM) finished the weekend at Swan Hill on a positive note with a (2-2) performance, Waters was forced to fight back from a poor start in the second moto, Waters found himself running low on tear offs within the closing stages of the race, whilst having to make a number of quick passes Todd managed to finish in the runner-up position after a hard fought battle.

“In a perfect world we want to get a good start, but I enjoyed moto two,” Waters said. “I came from fourth or something, had a heap of fun and that’s what we’re here for. “Obviously here to race for the championship, and we’ve had an interesting year.

“We’ll do our best at every race and this was a good start to come back. Matt’s riding really well, I look forward to racing him for the rest of the rounds. We’ve got another two weeks off now, so I’ll get back to my training and work for these final rounds.”

Matt Moss (Motul Pirelli Suzuki) claimed five points for GoPro Super Pole and both 30-minute moto wins, stretching an 11-point lead in the series with just two rounds remaining.

South African rider Gareth Swanepoel (Carlton Dry Honda Racing) finished the weekend in 5th place with a (6-5) performance. It is great to see Swanepoel progressing with bike set up and building confidence while in Australia competing.

Yet another tough weekend for Adam Monea (Monster Energy Kawasaki) Monea did not finish both motos due to bike issues. “I was extremely confident coming into this round,” Monea said. “I competed at the Swan Hill circuit a few months prior to this event and done really well, I am looking forward to the final two rounds in Queensland.”

Team (Raceline Pirelli Suzuki) rider Ryan Marmont rounded out the top 5 with a (4-7) performance, Marmont is starting to showcase some stand out riders towards the closing stages of the MX Nationals. Geran Stapleton (Raceline Pirelli Suzuki) finished in the top 10 overall once again with a (7-10) performance, the likable young rider came into Swan Hill round slightly injured after a big crash in Hervey Bay just two weeks prior to round 8.

A real shock to round 8 of the MX Nationals was (Team 07 Motorsports/Troy Lee Designs) announcement, (Team 07 Motorsports/Troy Lee Designs) has been forced out of the remaining rounds of the MX Nationals, the team is now facing a race against time to prepare for an Australian Supercross return.
